Biography

Greg Price was born and raised in Corvallis, Oregon, where he graduated from Corvallis High School in 1978. His connection to Corvallis runs deep; his grandfather started his freshman year at Oregon Agriculture College (now Oregon State University) in 1917 and later served as Dean of the School of Agriculture at OSU until 1968. A photograph of his grandfather’s 1917 OAC football team hangs proudly in Greg’s office. Following in the footsteps of his father, a self-employed businessman, Greg attended the same grade school, and high school, graduated from Corvallis High School in 1978. He then graduated with honors from OSU in 1982, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Behavioral Sciences. He then enrolled at the University of Oregon School of Law, graduating in 1985 and becoming a member of the Oregon that same year. He was admitted to the Washington State Bar in 1987.

Legal Career

Greg began his legal career practicing litigation in Eugene, Oregon, with the firm then known as Gleaves, Swearingen, Larson & Potter. After two years, he relocated to Vancouver, Washington and joined a large West coast firm of Bullivant Houser Bailey. Over his eleven years there, including four years as a partner, Greg focused on the defense of personal injury claims and litigated cases across numerous venues throughout Oregon and Washington.

Recognizing Greg’s litigation skills and his for injured individuals,, Bill Baumgartner encouraged him to transition insurance defense and representing wrongfully injured individual, becoming a partner in the firm Baumgartner, Nelson & Price in 1998. The firm specialized in representing individuals harmed by the negligence of others and relied upon the combined personal injury experience of over 135 years through its veteran attorneys.

Through his time at Baumgartner, Nelson & Price, Greg achieved numerous successes, including a $5 million judgment against a trucking company and a $1.25 million settlement following a protracted lawsuit involving an illegal police pursuit that harmed an innocent bystander. He managed various personal injury lawsuits, including automobile accidents, work site incidents, , governmental negligence, premise liability and liquor liability. In 2012, Greg opened his own law firm in Vancouver, initially serving as Of Counsel with The Law Offices of Loren S. Etengoff, where he litigate cases with in Oregon and Washington.. He has continued to enjoy a successful practice, achieving a $3.15 Million settlement with a utility district on behalf of an injured worker and securing a $1.04 Million judgment in a commercial dispute following a trial in bankruptcy court 0 one of his few cases outside of the personal injury.. 

In his last three trials, Greg obtained:

The aforementioned $1.04 Million judgment on a zero offer-case;

A 188,000 judgment for injuries from a disputed car accident, quadrupling the best offer and doubling the available insurance coverage, but was paid in full by the insurer.

A $183,000 judgment against the owner of a McDonald’s restaurant for injuries sustain in a fall, exceeding the only settlement offer made prior to trial by $150,000..

Legal Associations

As past President of the Clark County Bar Association, Greg has been on the Board of Governors for the Washington State Association for Justice (formerly Washington State Trial Lawyers Association) since 2007. He served as the President of WSAJ from 2021to 2022 and he continues to serve on the board, as well as on the Executive and Legislative Steering Committees. He is also a member of the Multnomah County Bar Association, the Clark County Bar Association, the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Association for Justice. Greg has been admitted in all Federal Courts in the States of Oregon and Washington for 40 years as of October of 2025. years.

Presentations

Greg has delivered presentations to WSAJ’s Continuing Legal Education programs on issues on assorted topics, including police pursuit cases, premises liability, and the legal requirements necessary for resolving the personal injury claims of minor children. He has also presented a series of presentations to the Clark County Bar Association focused on selecting, managing and litigating personal injury cases.

Community

Greg resides in Vancouver, Washington, with his wife, Mary, who are now empty nesters with their son in Flight School and their daughter attending an east coast college. They returned to Vancouver after two decades in Ridgefield, Washington. His community involvement included serving on the board of the Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge, supporting environmental and cultural programs. He also coached youth football, basketball, and baseball. . In 2012, he received the Washington Association of School Administrators’ Community Leadership Award for his role on a bond leadership team that successfully passe a $47 million facility improvement bond for the Ridgefield School District – the first in over  20 years. 

An avid sports fan, Greg passionately follows his beloved Oregon Ducks and the Portland Trailblazers. He enjoys skiing, boating, biking and other outdoor activities with his family.
